Pull up to the modest ranch-style exterior, step through the wood-trimmed entry foyer with its vaulted ceiling, and the living room hits you immediately: a vaulted ceiling, a wall of wood-framed windows, and Grand Traverse Bay filling the glass in deep turquoise from treeline to horizon.

The heart of the home

The living room is furnished with two plush grey sectional sofas, a caramel leather loveseat, a wood coffee table, and a flat-screen TV, but everyone will spend most of their time looking at the water beyond the picture windows rather than the screen. A separate dining room with a warm-toned oak pedestal table seats six under a stained-glass chandelier, with a glass door opening to the rear deck for easy indoor-outdoor flow. The kitchen is not photographed in detail but connects fluidly to the dining space.

Room to rest

Three bedrooms sleep six. One bedroom, photographed with a full-size bed in grey linens and a sliding wood-panel wardrobe, has a generous closet and carpeted floors, quiet and unpretentious. Three full bathrooms are spread across the house, more than adequate for a full group of six. In-unit laundry is also on site.
