Arriving at this Gaylord vacation rental, the first thing you see is the lake itself, visible from the driveway through a curtain of turning birches and maples. The grey-sided house sits close to the shoreline; a brand-new composite deck with cable-rail fencing faces directly over the water, furnished with Adirondack chairs in red and white around a bistro table under a bold red umbrella. Steps lead down to a sandy-shored aluminum dock reaching into clear, calm water, a canoe or kayak leaning on shore completing the picture.

Inside the cabin

The kitchen is fitted with honey-oak cabinetry, tile-top countertops, a double oven electric range, a black dishwasher, and a plaid cafe-curtain window that looks out to the trees. It's a proper family cooking kitchen, generous counter runs, full appliances, a separate laundry room with washer and dryer standing by. A separate laundry room with full-size top-load machines completes the practical side of the house.

The bedrooms

Four bedrooms sleep up to ten. One room is photographed as a bunk room with two sets of rustic wooden bunk beds and a twin, green comforters, wood-paneled walls, clearly built for a crew of kids. Two full bathrooms serve all ten guests.

The composite deck is where this home truly shines. Adirondacks, an umbrella table, and unobstructed lake views all the way across to the forested far shore. The aluminum dock extends out into shallow, clear water with a sandy beach launch beside it.
