The Cabin

About this cabin

Perched on a wooded hillside above a bend in the Boardman River, this sharply contemporary Traverse City cabin sits amid a rolling autumn canopy so thick the aerial view reads as pure forest — with only the blue-gray roofline and the glint of the river giving it away.

Inside the cabin

Step inside and the palette pivots completely from the forest outside: white walls, light white-oak floors, and a teal sectional sofa that anchors an open-plan living area flooded by oversized windows. A floating staircase with white risers climbs to a loft above. The kitchen is the true conversation piece, a pair of mint-green retro appliances (a Big Chill refrigerator and matching vintage-style gas range) face modern wood-tone flat-front cabinetry and a marble-look counter with a stainless dishwasher. It's a genuinely stylish kitchen that's also clearly equipped to handle a crowd. The dining area holds a solid butcher-block table for six, with sliding glass doors opening straight onto the deck.

The bedrooms

Three bedrooms sleep six. The primary is calm and modern, teal accent wall, a wood-slat headboard, a natural-wood bench at the foot of the bed, and a window framing nothing but treetops. Two full bathrooms keep the mornings moving for a full house of six.

Outside your door

The Boardman River is just steps from the back of the property, where a small dock floats at the bank, an Adirondack chair sits facing the current, ready for morning coffee. A fire pit area on the lawn sits between the river and the elevated rear deck.

What's Nearby

The Boardman River Trail links directly to downtown TC, making this one of the most connected retreats among all Traverse City cabin rentals, great restaurants, the farmers market, and wineries are all a short bike ride or drive away.

Perfect For

Design-minded couples or small families of six who want riverside access, a standout kitchen, and a fresh modern interior, without sacrificing the wooded privacy of a true Northern Michigan getaway.
