The Cabin
About this cabin
Stout, darkly handsome, and half-buried in a stand of bare-limbed birches — this genuine log cabin in Gaylord wears its North Woods character right on the outside wall, where round notched logs stack up two full stories beneath a steep-pitched roof.
Pulling up, you see the garage bay at ground level, a white-railed deck off the upper floor, and skylights punched into the shingle roof. A proper set of exterior stairs leads up to the main entrance. The surrounding woods are dense, no neighbors visible, just tree trunks and sky. This is the real secluded Gaylord cabin rental that families keep coming back for.
Inside the cabin
The great room is a cathedral of warm log: walls and ceiling are all exposed round timber, rising to a soaring peak where clerestory windows admit strips of daylight. A river-rock fireplace runs floor to ceiling on one wall, fieldstone stacked with obvious craft, flanked by a TV and a glass door that opens to the deck. Two leather recliners and a red armchair face the hearth; a second log-wall living space just behind the main room opens toward the kitchen. That kitchen has maple cabinetry, a stainless gas range, granite-look counters, and a window framing the forest. A breakfast bar with stools and a separate dining table round out the cooking and eating zones.
The bedrooms
Four bedrooms sleep eight. One bathroom features a log-wall en suite with a glass-door shower; a second bathroom has a tile-and-vanity setup for the other rooms. The cabin's multi-level layout means the bedrooms sit tucked above and below the living floor, giving each room a sense of its own corner of the woods.
Outside your door
The deck looks right into the birch canopy, with two Adirondack-style chairs set at the railing, quiet enough that you'll hear the woodpeckers working the trees. The fire pit area below is a natural gathering spot after dark.
